On entering the flue gas condensator, the flue gases are loaded with the residual heat, evaporation heat and the remaining flue ash.
Flue gas condensator components
Condensation stage
In the condensation stage the temperature of the flue gas is decreased to below thawing point. Part of the water vapour is condensed out of the gas and dehydrated. This washes and cleans the flue gas. This procedure results in a low-temperature heat in the range of 30 – 55 °C.
Flue gas cooling from 120 °C to 52 °C
Low-temperature condensation
A heat exchanger continues to cool the flue gases and heat up the outside air intake. The flue gas is washed again and more water is condensed out. Part of the heated-up outside air is used for plume removal (no water vapour plume).
Flue gas cooling from 52 °C to 40 °C
Preheating of intake air from -5 °C to 32 °C
